Getting started with Ciko

From the box to the first program running on the robot.

Unbox

    Check the contents: Ciko, the dedicated charger, the USB data cable, the track mat, and the challenge cards.

    Make sure the main switch is off before lifting Ciko out of the box.

Charge

  1. 1

    Use only the supplied charger, and charge on a hard, flat surface.

  2. 2

    Wait for the full indicator before you start.

First program

  1. 1

    Open the DCTEdu simulator, choose Ciko, then the Meet the robot mission.

  2. 2

    Build it: show the happy face, beep, drive forward for 1 second.

  3. 3

    Press Run and watch the virtual Ciko move.

  4. 4

    Move the same program to the robot with the From the simulator to the robot guide.

If it does not run

    Check the switch and the battery.

  2. 2

    Try another data cable; some USB cables only charge.

  3. 3

    Test it in the simulator first to make sure the program is right.
